Bridge House School from Cape Town sent their Boys hockey team on tour to Holland in April 2017. They began their tour in Amsterdam where they spent 3 nights. During their time in Amsterdam they had 1 training session with their own coaches and they had some free time to relax and enjoy an afternoon Canal Cruise. They then spent the next 2 nights in Antwerp where they played their first match. They also had some free time to watch some local hockey. Following their stay in Antwerp they will transferred to The Hague where they spent the next 2 nights. Here they had 2 training with Dutch Coaches and their second match. Sightseeing in The Hague included a visit to Snowplanet and an afternoon bike tour. The tour ended in the Hoorn where they participated in the Hoorn Easter Hockey Tournament for 3 days.
Cornwall Hill College from Johannesburg sent their Boys' and Girls' Hockey teams on a tour to Holland in April 2017. The group began their tour in Hoorn where they participated in the Hoorn Easter Hockey Tournament. They then headed to Amsterdam where the group played 2 matches against local clubs as well as had 2 training sessions with local Dutch coaches. The tour ended in The Hague where the group played their final 2 matches against local clubs. Sightseeing in Holland included a visit to Efteling Theme Park, Snow Planet and Kinderdijk as well as a canal cruise and bike tour. The group consisted of 32 students and 4 staff.
Cornwall Hill College from Pretoria travelled to Cape Town on an U13A and U13B netball tour. They departed O.R. Tambo International Airport on Monday, 17 April 2017 with 15 girls and 3 accompanying staff members. They had a very busy schedule and played back to back matches as well as enjoyed a training session held by a current Protea's Player! Their fixtures were arranged against the following schools: Herschel Girls' School, Sweet Valley Primary School, Durbanville Primary School and Wynberg Girls' Junior School. Their training session was held at Springfield Convent School and arranged through Netball Academy. The team enjoyed all the amazing sightseeing Cape Town has to offer and visited Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Two Oceans Aquarium, a trip to Boulders Beach and of course some beach time and shopping! After a very successful tour the team returned to Pretoria on Friday, 21 April 2017.
Herschel Girls' School sent two of their hockey teams on a tour to Holland and Barcelona in April 2017. The group began their tour in Holland where they spent 3 nights in The Hague and played 2 matches against local club teams as well as had a training session with local Dutch Coaches. They then departed for Amsterdam for 3 nights. They had their second training session as well as played their 3rd and 4th matches against local club teams. Sightseeing in Holland included a Spido Cruise, a visit to Efteling Theme Park, a canal cruise and an afternoon free to watch Hoofdklasse Hockey. The group then departed for Barcelona where they were accommodated for 4 nights. They had their final training session before playing their last 2 matches of the tour. Sightseeing included a bicycle tour around Barcelona as well as a tour of Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, the Olympic Stadium and Camp Nou Football Stadium. The tour party consisted of 30 students and 4 staff.
Hilton College from KwaZulu-Natal sent their u18 and u16 Hockey boys on a tour to Spain and Holland in April 2017. The group began their tour in Barcelona where they spent 5 nights. They played 1 match in Barcelona as well as had a training session with Spanish coaches. Sightseeing included a city Bike tour as well as a tour of the Olympic and Camp Nou Stadiums. The group then flew to Holland. This leg of the tour began in Amsterdam where they stayed for 2 nights and played another 2 matches against local clubs as well as had a training session with Dutch coaches. The tour ended off in The Hague with the group participating in the HDM Easter Hockey Tournament. Sighteeing in Holland included a canal cruise and a visit to Zaanse Schans. The group consisted of 32 boys and 4 staff.
Kingsmead College from Johannesburg sent their Hockey and Netball teams on a tour to Malaysia and Singapore in April 2017. They began their tour in Penang for 2 nights, where they enjoyed a "Hill and Temple" sightseeing tour. They then travelled to Ipoh for the night and enjoyed a city tour visiting places such as Kellie's Castle, Pamelo Farm and Little India Street. The group then transferred to Kuala Lumpur for 3 nights. Sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur included a city tour visiting sights such as the Petronas Twin Towers and King's Palace as well as a Batu Caves and Countryside Tour and an evening Fireflies Tour, which is a boat ride through the mangrove swamp of Kampung Bukit Belimbing. The last 2 nights in Malaysia were spent in Malacca and Johor Bahru. The tour ended in Singapore where the group spent 2 nights. Sightseeing in Singapore included a city tour including Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay and Mount Faber and a visit to Universal Studios. The group played 6 matches in total. The tour party consisted of 26 students and 4 staff.
Maritzburg College's first hockey team travelled to Germany and the Netherlands in April 2017. They travelled on Emirates Airlines and landed in Hamburg on the 06 April 2017. They spent 3 nights in Hamburg and played a fixture against a local club and had a few training sessions. They enjoyed a bike sightseeing tour of Hamburg before departing by train to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam the team watched a Premier League Match. There were a combination of professional training sessions and games against local clubs before they took part in the HDM Easter Hockey Tournament. The tournament was held over 3 days. The team departed Amsterdam on the 17 April 2017 to return home. They travelled with a squad of 16 boys and 2 staff members.
St David's Marist Inanda sent their U16 and 1st team hockey boys to Namibia and Cape Town in April 2017. They sent 32 boys and 4 staff members. They played 3 matches against National sides in Namibia and 3 matches in Cape Town against SACS, Rondebosch Boy's High School and Bishops Diocesan College. They had some free time in Namibia where they enjoyed Dune Boarding and Quad Biking. During their time in Cape Town they had some time to explore the beautiufl sights the city has to offer which included Table Mountain, Robben Island and the beach.
Twin Rivers Primary School from Zimbabwe enjoyed an 8 night tour in KwaZulu Natal. They brought over their U13A hockey team, 13 girls and 2 staff. They were accommdoated at the KZNHA Queensmead Lodge for the duration of the tour. They played fixtures against Hillcrest Primary School, a development match at the Queensmead Hockey Stadium, Durban Girls' College, Winston Park Primary School and a triangular against Lynford Primary School and Treverton College. 2 Training sessions were also arranged on their behalf and were held at the Queensmead Hockey Stadium. The team did a lot of sightseeing in and around Durban and got to do some shopping at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping. They visited the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board, the Durban Harbour, uShaka Marine World and spent some time on the beach. Following their great tour they departed back to Zimbabwe on Wednesday, 26 April 2017.
